Soundscape 60s - sound+landscape = natural sounds, sound signals, soundmarks

So I chose this elective because I never really deepen into sound as a topic, so wanted to know more about sound and how to visualize it. Because that was what i thought this elective was about. but that was not the case, I gained so much more information within a week reading pages from the bibliography and doing research.

I moved to Rotterdam two months ago, and since I'm still new here i wanted to know more about where the noises in my room come from. So maybe i can do something about it in the future. At first i was not sure what to do with the noise so i first thought of visualizing noise using ink, water and sugar and a speaker to see if i could find a pattern or similarities between the tests. But it didn't turn out how i wanted it to be.

So I then read something about soundscape and that fitted more into my idea of finding the noises and that intrigued me to make a soundscape of the noises in my room. Also making the noises more relaxing since noises are unwanted. So i recorded the noises during the day and found where most of the noises came from. I then put all the sounds together.

The acoustic environment is the combination of all the acoustic resources, natural and artificial, within a given area as modified by the environment.
