A world of sound in January 2021
So long as I can remember I like to have some kind of background noise. I don’t like silence especially when I am working. I like when I hear people around me, in the train, on tv, radio or in the street. While listening to a podcast I can work on something else, sound gives me the opportunity to do more than one thing at a time or sort of being two places at ones.

Being stuck at home because of Corona there is less sounds and people moving around and I miss going places. I am Interested by the idea of sound as an environment and I have been looking into soundscapes, sound mapping and Ambient sounds.

I have looked into sonicmaps.xyz and listening to the Update Soundscapes Podcast. In there own way they create an opportunity to travel somewhere else from home. I started capturing sounds around me and was curious to see if combining them would create a new soundscape. I wanted to create a short sound piece that would capture the environment sounds that currently surround me, curious to see if I will recognise them in the future, will miss sounds or that they maybe still surround me.

Curious to hear what my soundscape will be in a few months or a year from now.
